Address for the meeting place was not the correct location. It would be great if they would update the address on the ticket reservation with a the correct address prior to the event, but they send an address via email later after you make the reservation, so you have to remember to look through your emails, not the ticket reservation for the event. Because of this mixup, we were 20 minutes late to the cooking class. The instructor was very friendly, but the class felt rushed and was not very hands-on. I understand that she had another class at 2 o’clock, but we definitely felt that we were booted out the door at 1 o’clock sharp . The instructor did most of the prep work, we did very little, so that was disappointing. I am comparing it to a cooking class I took in Monterroso a couple years ago. The environment was very nice, and we met two other travelers during cooking class. Ravioli was very good, tiramisu was excellent, tagliatelle was average with my husband and I mostly having noodles with no sauce because we used very few ingredients.

This was AMAZING! This totally exceeded our expectations. We felt so welcomed by Luca and Patrizia. The food was delicious and the views were breath taking. They are the best and made our experience incredible. I highly recommend booking a class with them you won’t regret it! We will definitely be back.

Luca and Patricia were amazing! They were so kind, inclusive, and beyond thoughtful! We had one person with a gluten allergy and one person with a buckwheat allergy and they were able to accommodate us. The class was instructive, fun, and Patricia made sure everyone had a chance to try out every step! We cannot wait to make this meal for our friends and family. Also the setting was breath taking! Highly recommend!!

DO NOT SIGN UP FOR THIS CLASS UNLESS YOU HAVE TRANSPORTATION! YOU WON'T GET THE ADDRESS OF THE CLASS UNTIL THE DAY BEFORE, AND BY THE TIME YOU READ YOUR EMAIL, IT IS LIKELY TO BE TOO LATE TO GET A REFUND IF YOU CANCEL. WE HAVE NOT BEEN ABLE TO GET A REFUND.
The class was advertised as being in Varenna. Since we were staying in Bellagio, we were careful to check to make sure that we could get to Varenna with time to spare before the 10:00 am class started.
We were notified the day before the class that, in fact, the class was considerably outside Varenna--12 kilometers away!
The promotional materials gave no indication that one would need to either have a car or spend 100E on a taxi (50E each way) to reach the class. It was literally impossible for us to get to Varenna, find a taxi, and get to 10:00 a.m. class. (Even if it had been possible, we would have incurred unreasonable added expense for a taxi.)
We were not notified of the class location with enough time to cancel the 10:00 a.m. class. As soon as we learned about the actual location of the class, we tried to cancel for a refund. However, by then, it was less than 24 hours before the class started, and our request was denied.

This cooking class was a highlight of our trip to Varenna. To spend time in the home of the chef, learning home made pasta, ricotta cheese and tiramisu, eating our creations in the garden overlooking Lake Como, drinking delicious wine…was an amazing experience. It was just 2 chefs and us 2. They told us about their lives and families. We told them about us and that we were in Varenna for a wedding. They even gave us a gift to give to the wedding couple. They were smart, and sweet and patient with our kneading of pasta. Be sure to allow plenty of time to get a taxi to her home. She is high up the mountain. We loved every minute of this experience.

We had a spectacular time visiting, eating, and drinking with Antonietta and Paolo. We were invited to start the evening at 5:30pm. Driving there was FUN because of all the switchbacks to her home. We arrived and were greeted at the end of the driveway by a lovely lady. Her only instruction was, "when you are in my house, it is your house". Antonietta had rice balls and croquettes prepared for our arrival. Of course there was our choice of red or white wine! Sue helped prepare bruschetta and delicious zucchini roll-ups after we sat and visited for a bit. Then came the pasta making. Both Sue and Jim were taught how to make fresh pasta as well as tiramisu. For dinner we made spinach and cheese ravioli along with tagliatelle noodles. Just as we were ready to sit down to this fabulous meal, Paolo came home from work with their adorable dog, Athena. The four of us enjoyed a wonderful meal and FUN conversation. What ABSOLUTELY WONDERFUL PEOPLE. Although we were able to finish the ravioli, we were all stuffed when it was time for the tagliatelle and tiramisu. So after almost five hours with this adorable family, were were sent home with leftovers that kept us happy for the next few days.
If you want to spend a wonderful evening with amazing people, and learn how to make amazing food, we would HIGHLY recommend this experience.
Thank you so much Antonietta and Paolo!!! You are still welcome at our home for Christmas dinner. :)

Vi var 2 voksne der deltog. Vi havde en skøn aften med søde Monica. Vi havde betalt 250€ via Cesarine og forventede meget mere. Måske større sværhedsgrad, flere teknikker. 70€ havde været mere passende for de 3 timer da ingredienserne ikke var høj kvalitet.

Monica was a gracious, fun hostess and a fabulous cook. We made raviolis, barley salad and tiramisu. We’re still laughing at how easy it is to make tiramisu.
All the recipes are easy to duplicate back home.
We had a delicious lunch and the Prosecco made it even better.
