Despite this being a long and arduous journey, the company runs it regardless of the weather. They sent us into a 100 year storm. Petra had to be evacuated. Other tour buses turned over in the landslide. We did not get to see Petra and spent the entire almost 24 hours in dangerous conditions and the company will not refund our money.

Dear Michele,
Thank you for taking the time to share your opinions with us.
Reading your review makes us sad because the weather in Petra has been quite pleasant. In case you are referring to the floods that occurred last December, we offered to reschedule the trip or issue refunds to those who were unable to take a tour on a different day, despite the fact that the weather was beyond our control. We would love to be in touch to hear more details and further look into the matter,
Have a nice day!

This was a great way to see Petra with a limited amount of time, but I went into it without a lot of info and thought some details about my experience would be helpful. There is one bus taking people from Tel Aviv and Jerusalem who have booked 1, 2 and 3 day trips, so the bus fills up more than you would expect. They also get people in Eilat which is why the border crossing they use is the one that's furthest away (Yitzhak Rabin/Wadi Araba). This makes the drive very long. We were picked up in Jerusalem at 3am, had two 30 minute rest stops, and arrived at the border crossing at 8am. There were people there to help us through the entire border crossing process, which took about 90 minutes. The good thing about this crossing is that it was completely deserted, only our group was there, and it's open late even on Friday night, which is when we went. They accepted credit card payment for the $65 exit tax on the bus, but cash (USD or NIS) was needed for the $60 visa fee. No one asked for the Visit Jordan QR code.
Once through the border, we divided up based on the length of our trip and met our bus and Jordanian tour guide. Our guide was great and gave us lots of interesting information on the ride. We had another 30 minute rest stop on the way to Petra and were at the entrance at 2pm (lost an hour due to the time zone change).
We had to be back at the meeting place at 4:30pm, so we decided to leave the group to see as much as possible. The guide took everyone as far as the Treasury. I'm not sure how much free time they had after that. We made it as far as the Great Temple before we had to turn around to make it back in time. There are golf carts that will take you through the Siq for $27; maybe it would've been worth it to save the walk time. There are horses included in the price of the ticket, but they only take you from the entrance to the beginning of the Siq and the way the guys treat them is questionable.
At 4:30 we met at a restaurant near the entrance called Sandstone and a buffet lunch was included that was actually really good. Around 5pm we started the trip back. We stopped to pick up people who were ending multi-day trips and had another 30 minute rest stop on the way back to the border. Returning to Israel was considerably faster than arriving in Jordan. There is no exit tax if you're in Jordan for less than 24 hours.
We had one 30 minute rest stop on the way back to Jerusalem and arrived at about midnight. All the rest stops were clean with nice bathrooms and lots of snacks, so you can either bring snacks or buy them at the stops.
All in all a very long and tiring day with only 2 1/2 hours in Petra, but it was very well organized and we had no problems. There are faster ways to get to Petra that might be worth looking into to maximize your time there, but if you don't want to worry about figuring it out yourself, I recommend this tour.

This company does NOT care about your safety, especially when children are involved. When you are waiting for a tour at 3 AM in Jerusalem and an unmarked bus shows up, doesn't ask for your name, nor your confirmation number, and then doesn't have enough room for you and your family, you should be concerned.
We showed up early. The concierge of the hotel told us where the buses pull up. Two arrived. The driver of the first bus got off the bus. He then proceeded to announce the tour and ask every individual for their confirmation number along with their name. The 2nd bus driver never got off the bus. We were led to believe it must be our tour. People were sleeping on the bus and the driver just let anyone on. There were not enough seats and passengers were sitting on the stairs in the back of the bus. We had young children with us: 8, 9 and 10, and we did not feel safe under any circumstances.
We had seen Tourist Israel buses around the area, so we felt safe in booking with this company.
I would never recommend this company to anyone. I own a travel agency and we vet companies that we work with, and this one is for sure on our list of DO NOT SELL.
I have brought this to the attention of all of our travel agent contacts, letting them know this company is not to be trusted and does not regard your safety.
Proceed with caution if you choose to use this company.

Dear Traveler,
We appreciate your input on your Petra tour with us,
Our travelers' safety and experience are our top priorities, it saddens us to hear you didn't feel this way. Kindly note, based in the number of reservations and passengers our team assign the right bus with the exact capacity needed on each specific tour. It is prohibited and unsafe to let passengers sit on the stairs of the bus.
We would like to see you again to be able to improve your experience with us.
Have a nice day.

I couldn't miss the opportunity to visit Petra, Jordan, during my trip to Israel. I made a reservation for a one-night and two-day tour, but it was canceled, so I had no choice but to proceed with the one-day tour. It was a tremendous bus trip that required me to stay up almost 24 hours, but I was grateful for the opportunity to visit Petra. The tour was very well organized, and the Jordanian Petra Guide was so funny and controlled the time accurately. Petra's impression was so great, but I don't want to do it twice because it was physically difficult.

I love to leave a full five star review for tour Israel on with our day trip to Petra. They are so well organised, that through out the trip we could feel it. We felt through out Israel with communication issue , but not with their's crew member, So called all the three Ramseys (lol) @ israel-jordan border and our tour guide Mr Karim really made our occasion wonderful and with a lovely new years' eve to remember. Thank you

Good tour if you must visit Petra in one day and you need safety and knowledge I would say the time is limited to explore the Petra site but considering the long driving distance and that you're crossing to another country is a good option reliable and professional

Marvelous tour; do it if you can tolerate being on the move for nearly 24 hours. Take a horse to and from the Siq; it actually is included in the ticket. Rest stops are perhaps a bit long but they’re part of the experience too. Knocking off 1 point for the extraordinary difficulty of communicating with the office. Still expecting someone to respond about the Covid cancellation situation I wrote to you about, multiple times, 3 days ago.

To take this day tour to Petra - do you need to have a visa for Jordan in your passport ahead of time (i.e. - prior to the trip), or rather, is the Jordanian visa and permission to enter the country secured and paid for AT THE BORDER when crossing from Israel?
Buenos dÃas, me interesarÃa para el dÃa 30/1. Necesito saber los horarios de salida y de vuelta. Gracias

Hello wondering if you do private tours from Jerusalén to Petra and prices looking for October 12 thanks
If you take a day tour and come back to Jerusalem, should we quarantine or do any PCR testing to get into Jerusalem?

Hallo,

$65 to exit Israel is legit. $60 on top of that is to pay their shady employees who are supposed to help you get across the border. Of course, they do not help in that regard whatsoever. There’s no reason to use Tourist Israel for any tour.
