Definitely a must visit location but not for the faint hearted. After walking through the forest you end up in the open with crazy pinnacle formations. The track ends with a ladder taking you down to a sandy enclosure. Exploring the rocks to the front heads to the sea but be aware in swells, the rocks to the back lead to another smaller oasis.

Beautiful spot, nestled amongst rugged landscape. Definitely a mission getting there (sign says 45 min each way but can be done in 30-25min). Ladder is steep but worth the trip down. Good working shoes recommended as ground is rugged and uneven at times.

It is quite a walk to get to this place, and once you get there you face a 48 step ladder going pretty much straight down! The first part of the walk is lovely through the forest. They next bit is very exposed - especially on a hot sunny day. The walk is very uneven, and sometimes not a lot of support (e.g. rope rails).
The oasis at the bottom looks really pretty - but if it's a hot day there won't be a lot of breeze and it could be an oven.
Take snacks and lots of water.
Worth the visit - but be prepared! Sturdy shoes needed.

The views and location are stunning but require you to climb over, up and down rocky coral in places. Quite steep.

We walked through the native jungle with no real idea what the Chasm would be like. Before coming out of the bush and climbing over the small ridge we could hear and feel the ocean pounding against the rocks. Sharp, jagged petrified coral gives the whole area a surreal 'other world' look. Climbing down the wooden ladder into the chasm could be scary for some but just hang on and take one step at a time. Take a picnic to have on the sand in the chasm. While sitting on the sand we could feel the power of the ocean as it slammed on the outside walls of the chasm just a few metres away. The day we were there we had the place to ourselves. Well worth the effort to get here; something completely different.

A must to visit. Good walk through bush, then out through the volcanic rock, on single file paths, some areas have drops down onto sharp rocks, but walk is worthwhile. Good to take water and lunch with you to eat at the beach, after climbing down the wooden ladder to get there.

Half hour or less on foot to the magical dimension of Togo. A track already made and a wooden stairway downward to the chasm. This place has its own character and surrounding. An adventure for the young ones.

After a walk through the bush you emerge to beautiful ocean views and wild pinnacles of rock, then climb down to a strange little oasis of sand amongst the rocks, very Niuean.

Bit challenging to get here with roads having so many pot holes, but well worth the effort. Short stroll through the forest, best in closed in shoes due to uneven ground, tree roots and hidden sharp rocks, then come out to view the ocean in the distance and volcanic rock formations. Walk on a narrow and steep path with ropes to assist you down to the dreaded ladder! Don't look down and take one step at a time - it is so worth it. Down the bottom is just amazing white sand with palm trees and if you climb over the rocks a small cave. There was knee deep water at bottom of stairs and we took shoes off to wade through - all good. Nature at its best. Well worth the visit.

The walk down to the Togo Chasm started out relatively easy but care still needs to be taken while walking through the forest as there are large lumps of coral which are quite well camouflaged plus lots of exposed tree roots. Closed in shoes are a must.
Once you leave the forest, there are stone steps down with a rope handrail - definitely use that! Spectacular views of the east coast of the island from here.
Then there’s a bit of climbing over coral rocks followed by a wooden ladder down to a little sandy cove with some coconut trees but no water. My advice - don’t look down and just concentrate on what you are doing.
Once you have completed the round trip and get back to the car, you are allowed to feel quite virtuous as it’s a good work out.
