We took a boat trip with a National Trust volunteer on a very cute little boat. Our guide (and captain) was very knowledgable and patient with all the other river users. We had a 40 minute trip up the Wey seeing all the local landmarks, it felt tranquil and relaxing and we saw more of Guildford without any of the traffic congestion problems you can get on a Saturday.

This is a very pretty spot on the river.
There is a lot to see and the displays are interesting.
Lots of parking available and there is a cafe that serves hot drinks and snacks.

We could only stay here for an hour but it was a lovely sunny afternoon for a change. Nice cafe, with drinks and snacks.
We did not have time to go on a boat ride on the River Wey but those that did go seem to enjoy it.
Worth going to, in central Guildford.

We had a wonderful time, my son (aged 11) and his younger cousins had so much fun on the balance bikes, pond dipping, playing table tennis etc and the boat trip was excellent. The tour really engaged them and they could all remember so much of what he said. He was so kind and friendly when faced with a group of lovely boys and answered all their questions too. It was a brilliant day and the book shop and photography exhibition gave me something to enjoy too! Thank you

Very enjoyable and interesting boat trip, suited our group ages ranging from 9 to 85! The boat has sides and a roof so even though the weather was rubbish we all stayed warm and dry! Apart from a quick look in the barge We didn’t have time to look at the whole area but the bookshop and cafe also looked good. Highly recommend visiting.

Such a lovely serene place to visit with so much history of a bygone age on the waterway. Thoroughly enjoyable informative boat ride ….staff all had an an excellent knowledge and gentle manner. Great bacon bap and a toastie from the tea room where we were met with super friendly service. Thank you all for a lovely few hours :)

A fascinating place, beautifully presented, even on a rather chilly day.

For a relatively small site there is a surprising amount to see. You're able to explore on your own without a lot of intrusive signage. Two small leaflets explain the basics, but it's a shame there isn't a booklet giving more detail about the Navigation (so called because it's a mix of canal and river), the bargemen and lock-keepers, and Dapdune Wharf itself. It would be nice to have captions for the pictures on display in the cafe.

The cafe is well worth a visit on its own - my toasted cheese sandwich was wonderful! Unexpected attractions are the ping pong tables in the barge-building shed and an impressive stock of secondhand books, so you don't have to be a canal fan to find a good reason to visit. In summer it must be a delightful spot for a picnic. The staff I came across on my two brief visits were very friendly and helpful.

Thoroughly recommended, especially if combined with a stroll by the river. From the railway station, cross Walnut Tree Close, go down the steps next to the new concrete footbridge, turn left on to the towpath and walk as far as the railway viaduct. Cross the Wey by the footbridge alongside the viaduct, take the first footpath on your right and after a short walk you'll find Dapdune Wharf on your right.

Unusual, low-key, National Trust property found by accident.

Boat trips (£8 pp for 40 mins in Oct 22), tea shop, book shop and displays.

The site explains the history and significance of the 20 or so miles of the 370 year old Wye and Godalming Navigations, now looked after by the National Trust. The boat trips take you along a pretty and peaceful waterway with a knowledgeable guide.

Pleasant tea shop and picnic benches, good second-hand book shop.

Despite what the NT web site says, walk-up (ie un-booked) trips are available - at least they were in Oct 22.

I've place this review under business as my role was a PA to a young man with disabilities.
The booking system on linecwas a little confusing so I took the decision to book tickets on the day. We arrived early but unfortunately all the slots were all taken and only 1 boat was running. The volunteer Terry was brilliant and so apologetic, he explained the situation but when we mentioned we came from Portsmouth he called the manager who was so helpful, he mentioned he may not be able to do anything but went away and came back to tell us he's managed to sort out another boat so we could do our trip. The manager was Derek and was also the tour boats skipper.
The trip down the canal was very pleasant and quiet as the boat was electric. Derek was very informative on the history of the canal and pointed out places, bridges of interest.
The boat was very comfortable and overall it was a very nice cruise that lasted about 40 minutes.
You also have a tea room with inside and outside seating, book shop and other interactive sheds and a art gallery to visit.
Overall a very nice afternoon.

Throughly enjoyable afternoon by the river looking at all the places of interest. We had an ice cream and drink but there is a cafe there whilst watching the world move at a slow pace gazing out on the river. Then we had the 35/40 min boat ride and our skipper was pointing out historical items of interest whilst we relax ed on the boat
