Went to see Constentine, first visit and WOW, what a gorgeous theatre, beautiful building, great atmosphere. Easy access. We sat up in the stalls and could easily see the entire stage. Being an old jail it was interesting to see the cells..
Staff were courteous and efficient
Bar was busy
The obligatory souvenir shop.
This theatre is worth the visit to see the building and old trees on its own.
Highly highly recommended
We will be back.

We attended a concert at Ulumbarra Theatre Bendigo to see 1927 and Jason Singh. The venue being new is very classy. The seating is excellent with a slight curve on outer rows which makes for prefect viewing from anywhere. Very comfortable seating with plenty of leg room. We sat in row L which had a small dividing wall separating the walk way.
If you are staying in Bendigo, this venue is a must to visit. Truly amazing.
(Hint: As for parking, there a quite a few parking spaces in and around the venue otherwise you may have to park and walk about 500 metres. The theatre could do with its own parking as it would be hard in the wetter months).

Travelled from Sunbury to attend an evening performance of A Taste of Ireland
Our first visit to this theatre. The venue is of interesting architecture, the volunteer ushers and staff did an excellent job, seating was a bit narrow for medium sized persons but overall, a very pleasant experience

We came to Bendigo from Melbourne to see Ben Elton. What a fantastic venue. New, comfortable and intimate, all within the walls of a prison! Will definitely be coming again.

The Ulumbarra Theatre is one of the most amazing buildings I recently visited in Bendigo. It used to be a Prison and was very recently converted to a Theatre. You can certainly catch a performance but I went on a historical tour of the venue which is available on Tuesdays or Saturdays. Bookings are taken through the tourist information centre. Its brilliant and only $15. I believe even cheaper if you are local to Bendigo. The story behind the conversion is amazing and inspiring and is worth it just to hear that.

I was at Ganesh Versus the third Reich at Ulumbarra theatre in Bendigo and stunned by the quality of the theatre in a regional town in Victoria. A beautifully adapted building from the old gaol - features of which are retained in the outer walls to great effect. The trip was preceded by a swim at the lovely 50m outdoor pool opposite and followd by a delicious pizza at Chicos.

Sang here over the weekend with the Victoria Welsh Male Choir and Marina Prior. Great venue and acoustics with a packed audience. Excellent support staff and Front of House. Wonderful place to catch a concert at any time.

I've been to some great shows here and found it to be one of the better theatres I've attended in recent years. It's quite easy to see the stage from almost every seat, and it's not so big that you are never too far from the stage you can't see what's happening.
Overall, it's quite reasonable, especially as there is also a cafe and bar catering to the guests for refreshments. The only downside is the parking is somewhat lacking.

I have not only attended events at this old jail but I have on many occasions worked there as a security officer.
The theatres nice and comfortable ,the staff are very informative ,you can even get to g into some of the old jail cells and see how the inmates lived while they were serving their time.

It is very well laid out but a 7 year old may struggle depending on who sits immediately in front of her.
Do you have a restaurant on Sunday night before a show.

There are restaurants up View Street such as Wine Bank on View and Malayan Orchid, but you would need to ring to see if they are open as i am not sure, cheers, Deb
