Great memorial. Well maintained, easy to locate, highly recommended visiting for those who have a connection to or like to pay their respect to servicemen of the Vietnam War.

Last week we were driving through Seymour and just happened to drive past the memorial.
We never knew it existed so we stopped and spent some time there.
What a fitting memorial to all those that served in South Vietnam . 1962 to 1975,
It is dedicated to the 60,267 Australians who served in that terrible war as well as 11 tracker dogs. There are 106 glass panels with photos depicting that era and all those that served there are named on the panels as well as the 11 tracker dogs.
There is a cairn there in memory of those that made the supreme sacrifice.
496 Army, 17 RAAF, 8 Navy.
This is the only memorial of it’s kind in Australia, it is beautiful and very emotional.
There is military vehicles on display including a Centurion Tank and Huey helicopter which were widely used in the war
The memorial was dedicated 30 March 2011.
We were able to find the names of some mates who served in Vietnam , that was a touching moment.
A must place to visit when in Seymour.

This was my second visit but my mate had never heard of it but took my advice to stop in! He was not sorry and was very impressed as well. I've done the Vietnam memorial in the USA and personally think this is equal to any. A really well done tribute to not only the deceased but to all the participants and done in a low key fashion and always clean & well maintained. It is an easy stroll and with the Huey, Centurion Tank, APC, Info boards , Second Long Tan Cross & other features, it is a good way to break up a long drive plus pay your respects to these veterans. Just look for the Leopard Tank in the main street!!

This is an interesting memorial to those Australians who served in Vietnam. There is a bit of history displayed as well as some military equipment. It's a very peaceful setting.

Being a Vietnam Veteran, I was very interested to visit.
The glass panels which present the names of all Veterans who served in Vietnam is not only unique but also very moving.
The vegetation of spotted gums (representing rubber plantations) and native grasses (representing rice paddies) which surround the exhibit have been skilfully selected to mimic the Vietnamese landscape and add to the general ambience.
The exhibit is well maintained.

This place is a well maintained and impressive memorial park for Vietnam Veterans. There are various structures, information boards and artifacts to look at. Plenty of car parking spots along the street.

My wife and I visited this place during our stopover in Seymour on our drive to Nagambie for a holiday.

Amazing tribute to the Vietnam vets which means a lot to them (my father is on wall).. great place to bring the kids to explain their Papas service. The tank and carrier are very interesting as are the information boards. Highly recommend people visit this place.

I have been past the sign for this walk in many occasions... but I have held off on visiting it until recently. On a crisp morning I wanted to take a walk before starting work... I drove here. There is plenty of roadside parking.

The area is beautifully laid out and well kept. As I began to walk and read the boards I found the experience quite humbling as the stories unfolded. It's exceptionally well laid out, thoughtfully provoking - reminding us of a time where decisions were made by politicians affecting those around us... on a level that we struggle to understand in our current times. We really do take so much for granted in our lives.

But allow me to digress a little... As I walked around this commemoration, a young lady on a seat nearby said, "Hello, how are you?" . I replied greeting her, commenting on the beautiful day. She replied again saying, "Hello, how are you" and then immediately apologised telling me she was the local alcoholic. It was then that I noticed at that early hour of the morning she was drinking. I smiled back... and commented that the memorial was quite humbling, and then asked her what brought her here this morning. She went on to tell me that where she was seated... her grandfather's name was on the wall in front of her. I stopped to hear her story and she told me how wonderful he was and what he contributed during the war ...but she knew so little because he didn't talk about the details. This young lady went on to tell me that the plantings of the trees there were meant to remind one of the rubber plantations of Vietnam. Having been to Vietnam's Cu Chi's tunnels... I could see the resemblance. I thanked her for sharing her story... and continued my walk. I found it somehow consoling that this young lady found it comforting to spend time with her grandfather in such a humbling way since he had passed away.

It gave me time to wonder if we ever really understand another person's journey or story in life.

... let me return to this memorial. I believe if you are visiting Seymour, you really must put this on your list of things to see.

very professionally designed and set up. Highlight was the helicopter that lights up at night and looks menacing! Couple tanks also a drawcard.
