a nice wooden church

This church, from late 15th century, was originally built in a Silesian village of Zębice. But it was bought and transported to Gliwice. It stood in other places, including the central graveyard. Then it was deconstructed and remained in pieces for many years, until it was reconstructed in its new place, next to an old German cementary (people were exhumed from it). It's a nice, wooden church, with some paintings inside. Not immediately next to the centre, so going there requires a walk. Not always open.

Idealny na ślub kościelny

Kościołem ma niepoważany urok. Warto wziąć w nim ślub z uwagi na klimat bardzo przytulny. Do tego ksiądz prowadzący uroczystość pod każdą parę.

Очень красивая деревянная церковь, вдалеке от центра, но стоит того, чтобы сюда дойти. Правда, на меня набузили бабушки, когда я пыталась делать фотографии - было неприятно.

Jeden z rzadka występujących przykładów architektury drewnianej co podwyższa jego ocenę. Bardzo klimatyczne miejsce pełne tajemnicy otoczony starym cmentarzem. Warto i polecam.

Prześliczny, niewielki, o zgrabnej bryle - najładniejszy kościół w Gliwicach pochodzi z końca XV wieku z Zębowic. Gdy powstał tam większy kościół murowany, ten zakupiło miasto i przez długi czas pełnił funkcję kaplicy cmentarnej na gliwickim Cmentarzu Centralnym. Niestety wiele lat niszczał, aż w końcu znaleziono dla niego ładne miejsce przy dawnym Cmentarzu Starokozielskim, Nawa i prezbiterium są konstrukcji zrębowej, dzwonnica słupowej, dachy kryte gontem. Polichromia pochodzi z XVIII wieku i wiernie ją odtworzono przy rekonstrukcji m.in. Oko Opatrzności. Wokół kościoła rosną piękne wysokie drzewa i utworzono lapidarium (krzyże, nagrobki). To taki kościółek gdzie pięknie się uda kameralny ślub, ceremonia rodzinna lub refleksyjny koncert.

Beautiful wooden church

The wooden church of the Assumption of the Blessed Virgin Mary located on the Starokozielski Cemetery in Gliwice was originally erected in Zębowice near Olesno. It served the local faithful from the end of the fifteenth century to the beginning of the last century. Then, it was carried over to Gliwice. It is archaic wooden structure, with an added tower, was crowned with a helmet and a lantern. The interior, decorated in the Baroque style, dates from the eighteenth century.
It's great material for nice pictures, even it's hidden in many trees, but still possible to find a good spot. I love it!
