Not very big but a very interesting museum. There you can see much different type of tile stoves. At the end there is also a workshop where tools for making stoves are presented. The entire visit should last less than half an hour.

I loved the place, the artistry and artisanry that is displayed in the place. Too bad that we couldn't hear the story but it still was a delight to watch all these beautiful stoves. The visit isn't long. We paid 700 HUF for the ticket even thou there as two of us. Note sure what the real prices were.

They have several rooms with stoves, or at least parts of them (tiles, grates, etc). They also show you the workshop area, and some very fancy, old (but renovated) stoves in different styles. Even some other old objects. Very interesting and reasonably priced experience. They have some printed materials in English, but the tour is really enjoyable for Hungarian guests, because the ladies will answer all your questions, as long as you ask them in Hungarian. But there is also an app you can use to find out some more info. (This is not specific to this museum, but useful for several attractions in the city. You can see signs and QR codes all over the place. Go to the Visitor Center first to find out about the app and the attractions where it is useful.)

Ez a hagyományőrző, kis kiállítás, remek figyelemfelkeltő, erre a talán reneszánszát élő szakmának.Szép kiállított kályhák látványosak, érezni bennük a sok munkát. Sajnos a múzeum szakma iránti lelkesedése kevés, lehetne nagyobb fókusz, mert lenne benne több lehetőség is. Érezni, hogy a korlátok lassítják a kiállítást.

There are several exhibition rooms with stoves, tiles and drawings. A part of the former workshop is also accessible. Unfortunatly all the infos are only in hungarian (Sept. 2017). Easy to reach by foot from the center of town and worth a visit.

Unokám táborozott itt két éve, nyáron. Igényes foglalkozásokkal várták a gyerekeket, akik kézzel formázhatták a kályhacsempéket. Érdemes ellátogatni ide, igazi kuriózum.

Located in the so-called Fruhmann House, this collection is unique within Hungary but likely also in other countries. The house the museum is located in belonged to a family that was making tile stoves over at least three generations. The last surviving member of the family, Antal Fruhmann (1908-1987) donated his house and workshop to the municipality of Győr in order to establish a museum for tile stove making that was a common business in the city.

The museum is located in two buildings. In the first building you can learn about the Fruhmann family as well as the tile stove making families that used to live in Győr. In the mansard there's a workshop where school classes can try out making tiles from the original specimen that Mr. Fruhmann donated to the city. Following some extension work that was in progress during spring 2016, a "spectacle-storage room" will be established where you will be able to see the tile stoves that could not be exhibited in the other building.
