I was so glad I opted to book a spot with Keith and Sue on their Niue Orientation Tour. The 4 hour trip set me up beautifully, so I could revisit the places I wanted to, over the following days of my stay. Their local knowledge is superb and their style of delivery was relaxed, yet informative all the way. I was able to contact Keith on a daily basis regarding best spots and tide times, which resulted in some superb snorkeling which I could tackle with safety and confidence. A must do I feel for all travelers, so you don't miss out on all those hidden gems which Niue has to offer.

You certainly made the most of your holiday, and we are pleased you found our helpful tour.
There is so much to see and do here on this huge, uplifted coral atoll, so knowing where to go and when to be there allows you to plan your day's activities.
There are hidden gems here and much more to Niue than you expected.

Without a doubt, this was the best thing we could have done to set up our Niue adventure to be perfect. The team at NOT went above and beyond to ensure our holiday was the best it could be.
Fantastic communication prior to our holiday meant we felt valued and that everything was under control.
Pina, Lotte and Keith were fabulous tour guides, sharing local insight and knowledge, and were incredibly entertaining. We regularly referred back to the comprehensive guide book supplied by NOT, and really appreciated the daily email updates regarding the weather and tides and other bits of useful information. We also appreciated the free loan of flippers, snorkeling gear and hiking poles.
If you are visiting Niue, this tour needs to be right at the top of your to do list before you head off on your own in your rental car exploring all of the treasures Niue has to offer.

Thank you 400TraceyC for your supportive comments. Prior contact is always useful as we can make suggestions for your consideration. The "need to know before you go " concept certainly applies on Niue as you can't pop around to a local store and purchase items you forgot.
You invested in the"NOT experience where our orientation tour provided the safety information and resources to allow you to plan each day based on updated weather and tidal information

Niue has so much to offer that is different from other South Pacific destinations. "So much to see, so much to do and so little time to fit it all in. "

I first learned about Niue Orientation Tour through a quick Google Search for "best tours in Niue," before I flew out to the island in early October. The tour came highly recommended, and when I reached out to book a tour in advance, Keith and his team were responsive, friendly, and knowledgeable.
The tour operators went above and beyond to make sure my time on the island was an incredible one, showing our tour group the different spots to visit, giving us a historical overview on the island, and helping us set up the basics re: grocery shopping and rentals. It was honestly the most hospitable, friendly tour adventure I've ever had, and if you're thinking of exploring Niue I firmly recommend this tour.
My best tip: book in advance if you can. It makes your first couple days on the island much smoother.

Your prior. contact and subsequent booking gave us the opportunity to provide you with some suggestions to consider for the accommodation you had also booked.
The historical overview you mentioned was based on the relationship that Niue has with New Zealand and more recently with Australia and other supportive nations. Other tour operators provide their cultural perspective.
Niue is such a large island to explore with many gems to enjoy. You certainly made the most of your brief week here.

Keith our tour guide goes a step above sharing information about the island and it's offerings. He remains in touch and cares about your holiday experience. I broke my foot on our first day, and Keith took me to the hospital and back.

Our original meeting was serendipitious and you then decided to join our tour the next day. The broken bone in your ankle was prior to our tour, and as you mention, during the first few hours on Niue.
Local knowledge is invaluable hence the need for your own transport for carrying vital supplies back to your accommodation.. Pot holes are a hazard here as they are in New Zealand.
Visiting the local medical facilities wasn't. part of your Plan A
However it was our pleasure meeting you and we wish you a speedy recovery from your holiday 'break' here !

This was the best way to start our holiday adventure. From the beginning when we first contacted Keith and Sue via their website prior to our holiday, to the last day on the island, we had constant contact and updates from Keith with helpful tips and comments. We had a local guide Pina take us in her group, and this was the perfect foundation to base our day's plans on. We were given a beautiful comprehensive brochure and map with the sites to visit including when it was an optimal time to visit (eg if influenced by tides), plus tide times for the week and other helpful information. We stopped at multiple locations along the west coast for a taste of what to expect and Pina also gave excellent commentary and answered our groups' many questions.
I 100% recommend this.

An absolute must!!!
An amazing tour…very informative. We were so happy we did the Niue Orientation Tour as it helped us to decide where and when the best time was to revisit some of the sights.
They also told us a lot of history about the island, which allowed us to understand the way of life on Niue.
The guides were friendly and obviously love their jobs, when we saw them again during our visit, they were genuinely happy to see us and always had time for a chat.
We received many emails from Keith and Sue with updated information re tides etc.
The NIUE ORIENTATION TOUR certainly helped us to make the most of our time in Niue and we highly recommend it!

We had an amazing time being shown the highlights and learning so much about this beautiful island with Lote. What a star she was and an absolute privilege to have spent time with her. At our first stop we even saw a whale! The caves and the beautiful swimming spots Lote showed us we will visit again and again before we leave. Lote shared history snd stories with us and we cannot recommend this tour enough. Thank you Keith and your team, especially Lote.

Thank you Shar for your supportive comments about your tour with Lote yesterday. We are fortunate to have local guides who provide an added perspective to this very special island in the South Pacific.
Finding out where the many iconic locations are, why you should visit them and, most importantly of all, when to be there for your best experience, is essential.
Travelling in small groups allows a more personal interaction, as you experienced with Lote.
Enjoy your holiday here, revisit the locations you discovered yesterday and then use your resource information to explore the other 18 special locations outlined in our booklet.

NOT - Keith and Sue & crew were great tour guides for our first time in Niue. They showed us walks, and tracks, and chasms and swimming/snorkeling areas galore! Their knowledge was invaluable for our trip. It was a fabulous base for us to work with.
There are generally 4 available vans/drivers. There are Keith and Sue and then Pina and Lote were the other 2 amazing NOT guides - very friendly and knowledgeable people. They made the trip interesting and fun! And also, great to know where things are on the island - some things can be hard to find!! NOT also supplied a fab brochure of photos with descriptions to keep and suppled a daily update whilst we were there!

Your mention of our other local guides Pina and Lote is appreciated as they are a major asset to NOT and always a lot of fun to be with.
While our resources do provide tide times for the week, changes in weather conditions can have a major effect on your daily plans. Hence the email contact during your visit with forecasts and events to consider as well.

Amazing tour of Niue! Kieth and his team were so lovely and gave us a tour of some of the great spots around Niue. In addition, we were also provided with lots of information about all the places we should go to around the island and when was best to go which was very helpful.

Tripadvisor's most recent "Travellers' Choice" for 2023, affirms the value of an early orientation to any holiday destination, especially here on Niue because it has so much to explore and enjoy.
Booking directly with us months ago was also very helpful. Local knowledge is always useful. I was able to make suggestions for planning ahead that maximised your group's experience of this unique South Pacific island.

My husband and I both use walkers, or cane. Is this tour possible for not in great shape seniors? Sounds wonderful!

Greetings to our friends in California. Bruce T has summed Niue up very well. There are amazing sites and sights to see and while most do involve some walking, we can adapt our normal Orientation tour, or even take you on your own Senior tour. As a matter of interest, I am in that Senior class, as Bruce will attest and I always have a trekking pole with me for extra stability on some tracks.
All of our mini buses have additional trekking poles "on board" and these are used frequently. If our guests would like to continue to use these support poles they are welcome to retain them for the rest of the visit at no cost.
We care about our guests comfort safety and enjoyment so I'm sure we can cater for your mobility. Our oldest guest so far was a 92 year old and while he couldn't "do" some sea tracks, he had a great day out.
