mooiste straat in oude stad van Haikou
nov. 2019
In deze straat zijn de gevels bijna allemaal gerestaureerd. De straat is auto- en motovrij. Leuk om er rond te wandelen. Vele nieuwe winkeltjes en mogelijkheden om foto's te nemen bij beelden. Informatief museum ongeveer halfweg

Pleasant pedestrian road

Many brass statues in this street for photo opportunities. They are brand new but in good taste, looking like old ones. All around, there are the same type of colonial facades, but it is easier to take photo in this street.

Probably the most popular street along the Old Town...
déc. 2017 • En famille
Located at the heart of the Qilou Old Street, this relatively long street has been designated as car-free and the road surface is completely tiled. The entire street is decked with colonial buildings on both sides of the road. The businesses here consist mainly of cafes, eateries, and souvenir shops. In addition, another interesting feature along this street are the copper statues that depict the lifestyles of the locals during the olden days.

Haikou Old Town
janv. 2018 • En famille
We walked a lot of the old streets of the old town of Haikou. Zhongshan Road was very beautiful with the odd nice cafe. We also went to the local markets, which is NOT for the faint hearted, and ended up at the Qi Lou Snack Street, which was great!

騎楼老街の中心部
janv. 2018 • En solo
海口の保存された騎楼の中心部で行った夜には閉まっている店も多かったですが周辺部も合わせてライトアップされていて綺麗でした。

août 2017 • En famille
騎楼のあるいくつかの通りの中で、ここが一番きれいでした。歩行者天国になっているし、きれいな公衆トイレもありました。お土産屋さんやレストラン、アイスクリームショップなどが並んでいました。

Nice and quiet
mars 2016 • En famille
This is part of the Qi Lou area. A nice artsy area that is lined with shops selling art and craft, coffee shops, and also food stalls. Shops are refurbished and the street is converted to a walking street. You can pose for photos with the bronze figures reminding visitors of life back in the early days.

extremely charming
févr. 2016 • En couple
Without an English guidebook it was very difficult to locate Zhongshan Road or any of the Old Haikou roads on a Haikou city map so here is a pretty easy way to find them. Go to Haikou's People Park, walk through to the north side where the bridge takes you over a smelly canal and after one or two blocks you'll start to see the old streets with their sotto porticos or covered walkways. The other old streets are South Xinhua Road, Deshengsha Road, Jiefang Road and Bo’ai Road - you'll start to see touristic signage as you get close - even with a few in English.

I found the area extremely charming with a pleasant mix of local restaurants, doing-business-everyday shops and even a few more touristy shops. Each street has one or two free museums with old photographs that are interesting and gives you an opportunity to walk inside a few buildings even if there is little English signage inside. Zhongshan Road itself has been pedestrianized which is pleasant but is almost a bit too sanitized for China. I found the other old streets around this one to be a bit more authentic with their everyday activities going on. However the architecture was lovely. We ate lunch at a local Chinese place on Zhongshan Road and it was good and cheap. I think this area is a highlight of central Haikou (along with the Haikou People's Park) and not to be missed.
