Truly an amazing experience! The area was awe-inspiring, one of the coolest places I’ve seen. The highlight of the tour was definitely the cute guide though, the world traveler had a ton of amazing stories that kept the tour from ever having a dull moment. Definitely will book again!

I usually don't write reviews but this one deserves a special mention : during my trip to Gambia, I was quite, well, overwhelmed by tourist agencies proposing me to do the Champanzee Rehabilitation Center tour along with Janjangbureh and Stone Circles tour ('cept I was alone and no existing group had joined, which was quite a problem to to the tour), when I met Jackie who took a lot of her time to explain me how a tour at the Chimp' center actually worked (and how it cost) and help me to find a solution to visit all three spots of interest. Thanks again !

I can't describe how grateful to Jackie and the Tilly's Tour are we for giving us a chance to travel to CRP!!! It was truly amazing and extraordinary experience!
I booked the tour few months in advance and been in telephone and email contact with Jackie during the entire time between booking and actual tour. Everything was described step by step and except the actual travel route all was accurate. Most of the drivers are travelling to CRP on south bank of the river instead of using ferry and north bank - it's more reliable (ferry timing) and more convenient to CRP staff (they don't have to pick you up by boat wasting their time and money for fuel).
I would like to say big thank you to Jackie for coming by to the hotel despite her health issues to explain everything and make sure that we're prepared for the trip. She told me all about her work in Tilly's Tours but as well about her charity project - Glove project. It might not mean much for her but for me it was really special meeting!
Journey to the camp was about 6 hours long with a stop for a coffee and breakfast. Our driver Solomon (who I really recommend for all your travelling plans in Gambia) was a great guide and source of information.
The stay in CRP camp was amazing thanks to the staff - but that will be in different review. Solomon (driver) was in the camp for the entire stay so if we needed to go anywhere he was there for us. Jackie provided us with extra water for the journey which was really nice as the weather was truly african!
We had some small troubles on the way back for CRP - flat tire. My hubby and Solomon deal with that in less than half an our!
All in all highly recommended - word of advise to Tilly's Tour staff - update your website as it's not accurate in some places ;)

We used Tilly's Tours to go to the Chimpanzee Project run by the Foundation for the Protection of West African Chimpanzees; the project itself was fantastic and we really enjoyed our stay (see my review in the River Gambia National Park) but the service provided by Tilly's Tours left somewhat to be desired.

Firstly; when booking we paid a deposit but were not told that the remainder of the money had to be paid in cash sterling until after we had arrived in The Gambia. Not ideal and meant we had to go to the local bank, pay a lot of money for a visa transaction and leave with several large wodges of cash feeling like bank robbers. Overall not being told that we needed to bring approx £800 in cash cost an additional £50 on what is an expensive trip to start with.

Next; the description of the journey there on the website is not accurate. We looked at the distance and description and requested that we visit the stone circles on the way to or from the park, only to be told all travel would be on the South bank so this was not possible. While we understood that it was a little out of the ordinary we found out that it would have been possible to visit the circles on our way back by taking a boat from the project, to the North bank if our driver (Baz - who was the only shining light from Tilly's Tour operation) had been sent on ahead. We would have been happy to pay a supplement but this wasn't offered just a flat refusal to make a slight change to the schedule.

Then; we broke down twice. Once on the way to the project (clutch issue which took around 1.5 hours to fix) and then on the way back to Kololi (starter motor which only took around 30 mins). Given that the drive there is around 5 hours and we didn't have the distraction of seeing anything on the way there or back this was pretty much the final straw.

So, go to the chimp project, it is fantastic, but travel independently or use another tour operator. Note that around 50% of the price of the trip goes to the chimp project with the other 50% going to the tour operator.

I booked this tour from the UK. Jackie was fantastic. Our tour guide Bas was brilliant, as the drive was 6 hours, we stopped along the way buying watermelon, view the peanut harvesting and see real Gambian life. The CRP was AMAZING, we saw the beautiful chimps, hippos, crocs and many birds. The guides really know their stuff and all 106 chimps. Tents were great, the sound of the bush at night is crazy! Food was also tasty. So glad we booked this tour. TIP: Take good mosquito repellent!!

I can't recommend these highly enough, nothing was too much trouble, all the staff bend over backwards to help. From local advice to full guides with detailed and informative knowledge you really do leave feeling very specially looked after. We did a couple of trips out with them and would recommend to anyone. Jackie is a star, and will be our first port of call when we return.

My family took the 3 in 1 tour. Our guide, Boboucarr, picked us up on time at 9am. He took us to the Abuko nature preserve first which was great. Walked around for 1 hr and he shared a lot of information about the animals and flora there. Saw many monkeys in the trees. Hyenas are in a caged area that you get to see up close. Then off to the Pierog ride in the mangrove forest. For my family this was the highlight of the trip. The boat captain was very entertaining and shared a lot of information about how people there make a living working in the mangroves. Very fun.
Ended up on a beautiful beach for lunch and had a couple of hours to relax on the beach with our guide watching our things for us. Great swimming beach.
This tour allowed us to see so much more of The Gambia than we would have in our own. Well worth the money.

I booked a lodge through Tilly's tours and found Jackie and the manager Abdoulie EXTREMELY HELPFUL!!!!
They helped me arrange accommodation and find a boat at short notice.
They negotiated a really great price!
I have no hesitation recommending them!

Once again been back to Jackie for a couple of enjoyable days out. The nice thing about Tilly's Tours is that the owner, Jackie, really puts her heart and soul into making sure you get what you want out of your day. Her staff, in particular Abdulai, go the extra mile and from her profits she helps people from local villages. As she has been in Gambia for many years she knows the ropes and makes sure that her efforts, and those of her wiling volunteers, go to where they really make a difference. In principle, I wouldn't book a tour in Gambia with anyone else. Go for it Jackie and we hope to see you again later this year.
