The collection of curios is great. One can get all variety of local handicrafts.
But it is very pricey compared to the local market.
I found the Masai market good. There is bargaining there but at the end you find the price lower than these Craft galleries.
Further what you buy at the Masai market goes directly to the benefit of the locals.

근처에 마사이 마켓에 가면 훨씬 더 저렴하게 물건을 구입할 수 있다.
질도 그렇게 차이 나지는 않는것 같다.
현지화폐를 가지고 가서 흥정을 잘하길 바란다.

The base price for items here is considerably higher than what you'll get in the market. And, even if you can haggle, you will not have nearly the wiggle room that you would in the market. That said, the calibre of items here is higher than what is in the market.

Огромный выбор сувениров различного типа: от брелоков и муз дисков до копий масаев. Никто не уйдет без сувенира.

Очень впечатляет, огромный выбор сувениров, больше похоже на музей или галерею. Можно рекомендовать как достопримечательность.

I'm usually not too keen on "souvenir shops", however, this had a credible assortment of things and the prices were quite reasonable.

They also sold Tanzanite's and had an excellent quality.

I was very surprised how good this place was. It was extremely fun just to look.

Be prepared to barter your way to a great deal! Make sure you get rafiki price and not Mzungu price. Shop around for deals and buy in bulk to save cash!

Thank goodness I stopped in at this small gallery before heading out on the northern circuit safari!! It is "downtown " Arusha on Goldioni St. (it's in Lonely Planet). Prior to that, I had only spent time on Zanzibar. There, I saw many places selling carvings at, what I thought to be, EXPENSIVE fixed and also beginning bargaining prices. I did not buy anything at my first stop at The Craft Shop though, waiting to see what the souvenir shops would be selling and their prices on the northern circuit, maybe I could even get cheaper carvings.... That was a disaster the prices were all non-fixed and no one seemed to want to bargain too much. For example an ebony elephant wood carving the starting price at the souviener shops was $25 US, with almost no bargaining. At The Craft Shop it was almost the equivalent of $8US. The prices there are fixed and very reasonable and quality very high, especially compared to the (commissioned?) shops we were brought to on safari. I had The Craft Shop's business card. I called them and they opened early for me the morning after my arrival back to Arusha (because for my scheduled flight out). I bought many ebony carvings, mostly of indigenous people. The owner Hasina was a real gem. I highly recommend the shop for the quality of art sold and its fixed price, no-pressure atmosphere.
