The views are breathtaking when you make it to the top. We took the ski lift up to Fred's Mountain, for which you have to buy a pass at the office in the little village. The lift ride is peaceful and is a good warm up for the views to come. Once to the top you have an amazing view of the Teton Mountains on one side and the Teton Valley to the other side. Make sure you go on a clear day to really experience the views. It does get windy and chilly, even on a hot day, so be sure to always bring a light jacket with you when you go to the top. There also plenty of hiking trails for all ages and levels. There are a lot of mountain bikers and people walking with their dogs. Everyone is really friendly and just enjoying nature. Parking is not an issue and is located right at the entrance of the little village which also has restaurants and little shops.

First of all, this is a ski resort, so my experiences visiting in June is completely different than a winter visit. The lodge is small and intimate. The rooms are the size of a dorm room. Space is limited because I think in the winter it's easier to keep it warm. The bed is incredibly comfortable! There is a small TV, microwave and fridge. There are shelves and a small hanging rack. The bathroom is super small (I think I had a bigger shower on a cruise ship!), but the water was hot. You don't come here to stay in the room. You go to be outside. The ski lift is only steps away. There are a few outfitter shops, a sundry and two restaurants on site. The casual restaurant, Cache, offers a limited menu and is very expensive. But the food was delicious! Don't let the GPS fool you. It will tell you the national parks are close, but it will take you two hours to get there because the whole way are mountain switchbacks!! An hour down the mountain is Jackson Hole which is a beautiful place to eat and shop. But once you get to the resort, your options are significantly limited, so you may want to bring your own food/supplies.

Our horseback ride with Hayden is an annual summer event and it never disappoints. Beautiful scenery, relaxed atmosphere, good conversation and cool temps above the valley at Grand Targhee can't be beat!

My wife and I brought our nieces there and we enjoyed our stay. The staff were very accommodating.

I took a lesson to gain some knowledge & confidence after not being on a bike in 5+ years. I was a mess but Drew was very patient & helpful with tips getting back into it!

We rode the ski lift to the top of Grand Targhee and hiked around a bit. The view was amazing of the Tetons. The mountain bikers were fun to watch.

An incredibly beautiful, scenic ride to the top of Targhee! The views of the Tetons were spectacular! Totally worth it!

We loved our horseback ride with Haviland and his beautiful and well-behaved horses. It was our favorite of all the Grand Targhee activities we did that day. Our family group of 5 was paired up with another family, and we all had such a nice time. Haviland was friendly and personable, and did a great job choosing just the right horse for each rider, so we all would have a good time. Haviland told us lots of interesting info about the gorgeous area in which we rode. He took pictures of our group as we went along and shared those with us later. We appreciated his kindness, as it let us enjoy the ride even more. Haviland is an experienced and knowledgeable horseman. Be sure to ask him to tell you about his experiences driving the Wells Fargo Wagon!

Our group of 5 people went on a ride with Haviland and his horses in July 2022. It was our favorite of all the things we did at Grand Targhee that day! Haviland is friendly and personable. He did a great job matching people with horses, so everyone would enjoy the ride as much as possible. He gave us much interesting info about the gorgeous area we rode through, plus stories from his own long experience with horses. Be sure to ask him about his time driving the Wells Fargo Wagon!
