I was surprised by the mountain lakes that where above the town. So many opportunities to hike and even stay. I had no idea there was so much to explore up there.

Beautiful loop trail with landscape that kept getting better and better. We camped here over memorial weekend and it felt very secluded, and we had the most beautiful scenic back drop to wake up to. We had decent cell reception where we camped. You need a 4 wheel drive vehicle to see the prettiest parts of trail. I would highly recommend a trail map like Gaia as there were many roads that split off and/ or dead ended. The last part of the trail was a little scary as it was very narrow with steep drop offs on both sides. I’m afraid of heights and it definitely got my heart racing and gave me sweaty palms.

Beautiful colors in the fall and the scenery is as beautiful. Lots of places to hike, drive and enjoy the beauty this area has to offer.

The trail is in great shape. The first 1/2 mile or so is a steep up hill, then it alternates between some flat with up/downs and switchbacks before starting to pass the lakes. The water is very clear and the lakes a stunning. Great views of Mt Goode. The pass is switchbacks but not hard. Weather started to come in so I was not able to continue to Mt. Agassi.

This is a busy trail. Great hike but lots of traffic. The view from Bishop Pass overlooking Owens valley is worth the effort if for a day hike. Continuing on can get you lost for days.

Did Bishop Pass Trail during Memorial Day weekend in 2018. Though it was a holiday weekend, the trail wasn't too popular due to the snowy conditions. The first couple miles of the trail were mostly clear of snow, and any crowds dissipated as thick snow became more common. We even saw a few groups who had hiked up and skied down!

The snowy landscape was beautiful, but prevented us from getting all the way up to the pass. We probably go within half a mile/a mile before deciding to turn around due to snow depth and not knowing exactly where the trail was.

Though it was fun romping through the snow, in retrospect we should have brought gaiters and snowshoes.

This must be a flagship trail for the area, but even still, the maintenance and effort that has gone into making this trail is immensely impressive. Hats off to the trail crew! The whole way up was full of beautiful vistas and the transitions to the high alpine was beautiful. Too bad it gets dark so quickly otherwise we would have explore more. The birds and other opportunities to view the wildlife were excellent and I hope to return to see the flowers in bloom this next year. Great access point!

Some of the most remarkable trail building I've ever seen anywhere - well done, CCC! We came down from the pass at the end of the North Lake - JMT - South Lake Loop, and it was a spectacular last day. Gorgeous lakes, incredible panoramas, an altogether amazing descent.
