Really enjoyed both the historical display and the current art show in this very well designed museum. So glad we spent some time there as it it gave us new understanding of how first Americans lived in this region and some of the issues faced today.

I was quite disappointed with this. I think my rating it's fair because of the effort they put in, but the place is a reflection of how they care (or don't) for outsiders to learn about the local culture and heritage.

The place is neglected, the displays need repair, and the staff is friendly, but not exactly attentive. There was one person there, and we were the only ones in the entire place for the whole duration of our visit. I think it would have been great for the staff to show us around, show us they're proud to have this place open and highlight some of the features and exhibits.

I get that I'm not entitled to any special treatment, but given the state of the place, I think every bit of effort they make towards promoting the place would be beneficial to them.

Outside, they have a few "stations" or exhibits of the local flora and fauna, but most of them are also neglected.

The biggest highlight was a type of microscope they had in the back where the kids could look at some sample specimens of local insects and animals, they loved it, but as an adult, I could tell they also had been neglected.

The entrance is free, so that's a cool thing. I can see why it's free, and at the same time, they could not charge money for entrance with the quality of the displays as they stand today.

You're not allowed to take pictures, so I can't even post the good exhibits or the great stuff that was shown there. I almost felt like we were back in 1999 with "photos prohibited" attitude. It's 2022, photos benefit the place 100% of the time. The policy of no photos is not just bad, but it deliberately hurts them.

So much potential wasted, in my opinion.

As you walk up to the entrance you are treated to a long line of local plants the Paiute Indians used for food, medicine, and survival items such as rope. Inside, there are very well-done displays of the Paiute traditional/historical lifestyle and culture. Best of all are handmade crafts for sale.

We have been looking for Native American culture and store but too bad that it is closed since March 2020 until further notice. From the window, I can see an art gift shop. I can't rate with five stars.

This museum has a good number of Native American artifacts from the area. It has very nice grounds and a beautiful gift shop with Native American merchandise. Entrance is a donation.

A must-stop in the Bishop area, considering that everything we do there is on lands that were forcibly taken from Native Americans. Learn a little something by stopping here before you head out to hike, ride your mountain bike or shop. Fascinating displays on Paiute history, culture and traditions and a good gift shop, where we especially liked the selection of note cards drawn by local artists.

The museum is closed on Sunday and Monday so had to wait until Tuesday afternoon to visit. Worth the wait. The museum is small but the displays are very well done and very informative. We have been to several native american museums in the south west and this is right up there with the best of them. The little gift shop has a good selection of items and the prices are good to normal. The lady at the counter was very helpful with an item my wife bought and actually contacted the maker to have it custom fit, she was very helpful is giving some directions for us to actually visit some ancent cultural sites that we visited the next day. As the local park was closed for repairs this was a good stop for lunch at one of the picnic tables.
Well worth at least one hour to take in all of the exibits.

A very interesting insight to the indigenous culture and the issues facing these people today.
The person in charge was very friendly and keen to share his knowledge and hear about the comparisons with how the maori were and are being dealt with in New Zealand.

We love looking around at this museum. They are very proud of their citizens. They were making baskets and let us watch. There were many displays throughout the museum and we learned a lot. The lovely lady at the counter was a wealth of information. Recommend this museum.

This is a museum along with a Native American gift shop. No photographs allowed. There are lots of displays, information, and maps. There is also a display in the back about the environment and pupfish. There is also a trail around the back of the cultural center. with tall trees. Plants are labeled along with their use in the front of the building.
