Absolute gem of a find. Beautiful waterfall and grounds, but the older gentleman at the counter was really rude. His attitude was shocking towards us regarding payment to enter

Visited in February during half term. Closed at 3pm so bear that in mind and call ahead as quite a few people were turned away as we were leaving.
The waterfall itself was very impressive. However it doesn't look like anything has been invested in the park for a while. For example the benches were rotting and need replacing.
The lady working in the shop needs basic customer service training. We were made to feel like we were an inconvenience and it was also quite an odd experience to even get tickets to get into the park.
Ten pounds for 2 adults and 1 chuld I don't feel is good value.
Unlikely I'd visit again.

What a waste of time and money £8 for two adults. The walks are covered in litter, broken fences and railings with felled brances and foliage on the paths and quite dangerous in places. It needs a lot of time and effort on maintenance and making it a place people would like to visit. I certainly would not visit again.

Really disappointing as we checked the website and it did not say closed. Also checked tourist information who did not know it was closed. Did a short walk from hawes and shut when we got there. Really unacceptable that it could not be advertised as such. Tourist information were embarrassed that thay did not know. In this day and age it is unacceptable. As a last resort there could be an honesty box and gate kept open. I understand there are costs of upkeep but bad experiences put people off and reduce income. Hopefully the national park will take over soon.

The weather was wonderful when we went up to the waterfall which was tremendous….but what let it down was the cafe. It was a very limited choice and I’m sure it was supermarket sourced. But the lady prepared the food kept licking her finger as she worked very of putting.

This place is fantastic. Great views and lots of photo opportunities. Seen some negative reviews about reception but the lady couldn’t have been nicer, she was friendly and offered an umbrella which was needed. Worth the money and you can see the work the owners are doing to maintain the place. We went after the storm and the waterfall was flowing with force. Would come again. Thank you for opening it for people to view

Don’t walk all the way from Hawes to see the falls unless you’ve got cash. We found out the hard way, from the rude woman, that they don’t take cards or contactless.

This one is a good one with a dog friendly café and toilets at the entrance. Nice level walk to the lower fall and a good picknick area also for the more adventurous a steep climb using good steps up the cliff face to see the top with the water plunging down into its pool below.
Also you will find a money tree stuffed with coins on the lower path.

Whilst I understand money is needed for maintenance, I feel like this site being privately owned is to make money. Visiting nature, I feel, should be free or come at minimal cost as a-lot of places in the Yorkshire Dales and the UK.
All research we did prior to visiting said entry of a small amount (£1) so £4pp was higher than expected. It was very beautiful but for 3 people to visit it didn’t seem worth it given you can visit other waterfalls in the area for free/ cheaper.
On entry the staff member wasn’t friendly, very cold borderline rude.
It was a lovely walk and toilet facilities were good.
Following the walk through my mum went back into the cafe to buy something and was completely ignored by staff. Improvement needed!
Would recommend reducing the price.

I have visited Hardraw Force many times since 1973. Back then it cost 50p to enter through the pub. I have seen the many changes to the site. Last time visited was four years ago so it was lovely to see new areas opened up. We enjoyed the walk around the top with the the views out to the dales and from the top of the falls. Tremendous power from a small stream pouring over the edge. Equally the walk around the bottom to view the falls falling into a pool was spectacular. Of course the best time to visit is after heavy rain.
The entrance fee of £4 each adult I feel is just right. It is privately owned and you can clearly see that the ongoing maintenance is keeping the site suitable and safe for the public.

Hello,
I would like to photograph the falls in the evening, when the light is low; can I arrive at 4:45pm or closer to 5pm and still be allowed access? I was wondering if the last admission is earlier, given that it closes at 5pm.
Many thanks,
Rob.
Hi Rob
That will be fine. Just call me beforehand on 01969 667572 to make sure I will be there after 5.

Hi,
Does anybody know how far the falls are in distance from the Green Dragon Inn ?
Is this easily accessible for an older person with relatively low stamina?
many thanks

It’s probably about 3 or 4 hundred metres - tops - I’ve taken my mother there and she thought it well worth the walk

Is there a good (but relatively short) walk to or from the waterfall or the Green Dragon Inn? Want to make an afternoon of it and walk a little further than between the pub and the waterfall

After seeing Hardraw force come out of the Green Dragon pub and turn right. Walk to the stream. Locals walk along there. However, there is lots of walks in the area. Just follow your nose. Beautiful area.

Hi, I need to contact the owners, but the number on the website is not available and there is no e-mail address. Could someone give me a point in the right direction please?

the Green Dragon has changed hands. Try phoning the White Hart in Hawes. They will know.
