In my 70s and bro 65, we walk this trail at different parking areas at least a few times a week. It's as long as you'd want it or as short. We see bikers, walkers, runners, and horses. Lots of awesome dogs to pet. Favorite area is Mt Gretna and often we leave the trail and walk up to Gov. Dick tower another great trail.

The Conewago Recreation Trail is a hard-packed gravel rail trail through woods and farm fields, roughly parallel to Conewago Creek. There are nice views that may include deer and other wildlife, and the trail is well-maintained. The only serious drawback is the dangerous crossing of state route 743. Cross traffic on SR743 does not stop, and although the speed limit is 45 mph, a few feet away it changes to 55 mph, and many drivers go even faster. SR743 is quite heavily traveled, especially on weekday mornings and evenings, so extreme caution is indicated. At the 5 mile trail's northeastern end there is a seamless connection with the Lebanon Valley rail trail, which continues 14.5 miles to Lebanon city (and eventually, points beyond that). From the trail's southwestern end off SR230, ambitious and hill-ready bicyclists can continue along country roads to Falmouth and the Northwest River Trail.

We live near the Conewago Recreation Trail and go there often in good weather. The trail is being expanded and provides many hours of enjoyment in nature.

My partner and I just bought Elictric assist bikes, and this was a great place to try them out. The trail goes 3 miles to a highway, cross it and another 9 miles is easily accessible. One could bike adnausiam. Most is unpaved but rideable, very pleasant on an autumn ride.

This is an opportunity for people like me who have excuses for not getting out for exercise outdoors. It is not too hot because there is a lot of shade. We did not encounter any bugs in 2 hours of walking.. There are only a few places that are not almost completely flat. Great footing and easy to walk on. If you wish to bike it runs from E'town- Middletown road all the way to Mt Gretna. So there went all my excuses to not get out regularly. We loved it.

Nice trail that is pretty well-maintained! Pretty popular, so it can get crowded at certain times. If you enjoy geocaching, this is a nice stretch to try out!

This rail to trail location is great for walking, running or bike riding. It's flat, shaded, and plenty wide for multiple people.

This is a great trail for biking that will take you all the way up to the Lebanon county fair grounds, but no need to go that far, the Jigger Shop in Mount Gretna is far enough. It is roughly 12 miles from the start of the trail on Rt 230 in E-town to the Jigger Shop, maybe half of it on a slight incline. Basically when you get to the top of the hill, or close to it, you get off the trail and head down another path to a road that takes you right into Mount Gretna. It's hard to miss. Best part is you can treat yourself to an ice cream or milk shake, and they have cold water to refill your water bottles for the ride back, and roughly half the ride back is on a slight down hill decline. Last time I went the whole distance the trail was not is such great shape beyond Mount Gretna, but that may have changed.

The trail runs through areas of trees and meadows with a usually gurgling creek running alongside. It is well maintained and used. Only drawback is that there is no porta potty or restroom at the trailhead.

I've lived in Etown my whole life and have walked and biked this trail numerous times. Like most things, it has its pros and cons.

Pros:
- The path is almost paved, wide and flat which makes it great for both walking and biking.
- The ease of access is fantastic: there are quite a few entrances, many of which have parking.
- The wildlife and scenery are both very nice to observe while travelling on it.
- The trail is quite long, so you can walk for as long as you'd like.

Cons:
- At it is a very popular spot, there are always quite a few people. If you're looking for a trail that is not very populated, this isn't a good choice.
- The trail is flat without any hills, which can be a pro or a con, depending on what you're using it for. If you're looking for a trail in the middle of the woods with a bigger degree of difficulty, the Conewago isn't that trail.

All in all, it's a very nice place to walk; I take my boyfriend's family dog there whenever we want a walk that's on the easier side as opposed to hiking and exploring.
