Easy to get to, once you see the signs, but not signed very well from main road for a point of interest

What an amazing little area to walk around. Beautiful colours in the mined and excavated cliffs. I'm very glad I spotted the sign.

Won't not waste time visiting. I've seen cooler things on the side of the road.
Very disappointing.

Very enjoyable walk and only a short distance from the car park. Marvel at the rugged ground and colours. Good for photos. Worth combing with Rochester and Colabinabbin silo art nearby.
Thanks for the vote if you found this review helpful.

Do yourself a favour and visit this natural wonder on the outskirts of Heathcote , we took a picnic lunch and found an area to sit and take in the environment

This is the most magnificent place to amble around and enjoy nature. Follow the signs out of Heathcote and park across from an old winery. From there it's a 30 minute return walk...but why just spend 30 minutes??? Take your time and enjoy the natural surroundings ... enjoy the contrasting colours in the cliffs... breathe... reflect...it's places like these that we can reset our psyche.

Once a hydraulic sluicing site, mining activity in the late 19th century washed away the top layer of earth and revealed the dramatic, colourful cliffs on display today. Hydraulic sluicing at the Pink Cliffs Geological Reserve was halted in 1890 due to such damage being wrought on the local landscape.

Park in the small parking area and take an easy walk to view the cliffs. It was quite muddy and a little slippery after four days of rain, but take it slowly and you’ll be fine! There is an upper and lower viewing area, both should be seen. Fortunately the sun came out just as we approached, the colours jumped out and were very beautiful. There are a couple of information boards to read, but internet research will give you more details. Well worth a visit.

Short walk from town center, interesting to see theses cliffs and the colors they have become. Lots of wallabies and kangaroos around.

Just a short walk and we were a bit taken back of these lovely hills, their colour and shapes. The pic says it all

Close to town and worth the 30 minute round trip walk. Interesting piece of gold mining sluicing history. Couldn't work out where the water came from but there are boards explaining the process of washing the gravel cliffs with high pressure hoses to recover the gold. Easily accessible from Pink Cliffs Road but the road signs are very small if you try to come from any other direction. There is an upper and lower viewing area and there is a table & bench seats if you want to have a snack while you are here. Surprisingly few flies - maybe we were lucky.
