Just next to the Maheshkhali pier, this temple atop a hill is quite the scene. Multiple shrines and full of locals praying and making offerings. It's very colorful and well worth a visit.

This is a nice place and you may have to clime around 100 feet small hill. There are also two Buddhist temples close to this place which you shouldn't miss.

it is on the summit of Mainak Hill and dedicated to the Hindu God, Shiva. You have to remove you shoes but can wear socks upon entering. The temple offers some photo opportunities and is quite famous for the annual fair which lasts for 13 days and draws thousands of Hindus.
do explore the tiny village of Thakur Tala via a tuk tuk. Tons of them around and great fun. Lots of shops for browsing. Do find the small Rakhain community that produces traditional textiles at the weaving center. Very interesting to watch. Reasonable prices.

You have to go upstairs to enter the temple. Well decorated as well as neatly maintained place. You can also visit the surroundings offering superb view of the Bay of Bengal and forest.

Adinath Temple situated at Moheshkhali Island, which island is a beautiful island in the Bay of Bengal in the north-western side of Cox’s Bazar. Very easy to visit from Cox's Bazar. You can easily spend one evening at this island. The temple is on the top of a small hill. So far, I can't find out the information of the establishment of this temple. To visit Moheshkhali, you must consider the tide to make your journey more comfortable.

Getting to Moheshkhali Island from Cox's Bazar is an adventure in organised chaos. Walking along the rickety wooden jetty, balancing on little wooden boats which extend the the jetty when the tide is low, and climbing onto waiting speedboats while being jostled by people and boat owners is overwhelming and exciting. About 30 minutes later you arrive at the island and face a barrage of persistent rickshaw drivers eager for your business. Even though I was with a guide, there ended up being quite an aggressive, physical argument at the end of our journey because the rickshaw driver decided he wanted more money than what was agreed upfront. Despite this, the island is a wonderful place to visit and Adinath temple is very beautiful. There are quite a few steps to climb to reach it, but you can pace yourself by looking at the Burmese market lining the steps. Be warned they drive a very hard bargain. I witnessed a Hindu ceremony in the temple which involved me being blessed and drinking some holy water. It is a very peaceful place.

As a non-religious person, I found the way to the island more attractive. A couple of minutes on the jetty or the walk from jetty ro the temple would be enjoyable. The stairs to the temple were easy to climb and offers a great view from the hill top. The shops next to the stairs reminded me of Swambhunath temple in Kathmandu. It took us 1200 tk one way for a speed boat (10 people). You'll get auto-rickshaws for commuting
