First of all, I am delighted to hear that our reception and Wellness staff was able to make your stay with us extra pleasant. Here at the Grand Hotel Amrath Amsterdam we are continuously striving to deliver nothing less than a 5 star standard of service and it is a treat to learn from your comments that we were able to achieve this in your particular case. I am also pleased to learn that our extensive luxury buffet breakfast was to your liking and that you enjoyed your room service order. As for your comment on the general upkeep and antique look of our hotel, I would like to point out that our establishment is located in a monumental building which used to be the office of six different shipping companies, and was built in the early 20th century in the architectural style of the ‘Amsterdam School’. We do try our utmost to renovate where necessary to maintain the comfort of 5 star facilities with respect to the original charm and character of our monumental building. I regret that you did not feel we achieved this during your stay. Thank you for bringing this to our attention, we will look into this. I am also sorry to hear that you were inconvenienced by the construction outside of our hotel. We are indeed in the process of restoring parts of our monumental building to their original glory. L’hôtel joue beaucoup sur sa localisation et le cachet d’un bâtiment historique. L’hôtel est beau, esthétique, dans l’esprit de l’architecture hollandaise bien qu’un peu austère en fonction des sensibilités. Dans les faits : le petit déjeuner est correct, rien à redire.

Bonjour , le plus simple et le plus économique c'est le train qui part directement de l'aéroport de Schripol et vous amène à la gare d'Amsterdam centre. Les taxis sont chers et mettent 1 heure au moins pour effectuer le trajet qui prend 20 minutes en train. La gare se situe à 10 minutes à pied du grand Hotel Amrath. En sortant de la gare, il faut prendre la direction sur la gauche et suivre la route principale qui vous amènera directement à l’hôtel. A noter que les trains de banlieue reliant l'aéroport à la gare sont ponctuels, propres et les quais sont bien indiqués. Le billet de train aller / retour coute environ 10 euro et vous pouvez l'achetez directement aux distributeurs automatiques situés dans le hall de la gare. En espérant que ces renseignements vous seront utiles. Bon séjour.

I had to pay about £180 they take it then give it back when you go so it’s on your card I waited ages for it to go back in bank.

Can someone please tell me the best way to get from the Airport to Grand Hotel please? I’m after cost and route (bus/train/etc). Thanks!
Train from airport is approx 6 euros. Usually Platform 1 or 2. Takes 10 - 15 mins. Come out of the station (City Side) and the hotel is on the left hand side. Approx 200m walk. Should take no more than 10mins max to walk.
