This is a treat, if you like a place with old charm, character and true hospitality. I loved the 180 year old tiled floors and the high ceilings in stone. Genuinely friendly welcomed. You will find groceries, the seaside walk and relaxed street life immediate around the monastery.
Raccomandatissimo!
This convent is a hidden gem of a place to spend the night, within something that is now, unfortunately, a hidden gem of a tourist destination. Both this monastery and Tripoli are fascinating places, and I recommend both! I arrived late in the night, and was greeted with kindness and elegance and taken to a spacious room with a great airconditioning system and a (in Lebanese measures) great WiFi-connection. The bed was comfy, the bathroom was clean, of course both the room and the bathroom reflects that this is an OLD monastery, but hey, when it´s clean it is just charming.
