Very happy to have found this beautiful, peaceful spot in the heart of Bishop. What’s not to love? The important stuff - super friendly and helpful staff, dreamy bed and linens, roomy hot shower, ample parking and free WiFi. Great local restaurants within walking distance. The special touches - really pretty property with lovely trees including cottonwoods, a pond attracting birds and frogs, a community room where you can gather, cook, store your own food if you wish, play board games, lots of areas to relax and enjoy the Sierra scenery. And Lucy.
My wife and I stayed here twice, once on our way up to Lake Tahoe, and again on our return because the 1st stay was so nice. Our room (Gabb) was spartan (no tv, a blessing!), but the bed was nice and firm and the bathroom roomy and modern. We were also removed from the constant street nouse. The appeal for us was the large communal kitchen available to guests to cook their meal, a refrigerator in which to keep your food, cubbies for places to keep other stuff, large tables to share your bounty, and a nice fireplace available to relax by. The owners provide butane double stoves and pots and pans, as well as a microwave and dishwasher Games and books are provided and the communal spaces ourside are also nice and well kept (we ate by the pond). Coffee is available un the morning and the well known Erick Schat bakery is right next door. We had a very nice stay!…
This place is charming! Great little spot to relax after a day of driving. If you are a hiker, you will bvb e near many trails! The room was perfect, clean and the bed was very comfortable! No extra frills just a nice room! There is a community area for cooking, eating and sharing stories. The back patio and seating are quaint with a wooden deck and little pond. We enjoyed a glass of wine in the Adirondack chairs outside our room. The owners are sweet and very helpful! You can tell this is their dream to provide a little oasis.
Reviews of bishop hotels seemed to indicate low quality of most places besides this and it surely lived up to the positive reviews we've seen. A small "hotel" or rather call it 11 room guesthouse with clean pleasant rooms. kids loved the bunk beds, bathroom was pleasantly clean and nice. no refrigerator or kitchenette but there is a common room for those can of needs that can be shared among guests. My kids felt like they were at home-it a homey feel. Nice picnic tables by a little pretty pond. the owners sent all arrival info before so we were able to go to our rooms without any check-in. We were in a room called Basin, the curtains on the bunk beds had a slight odor to them and the AC could've worked a little better but otherwise cannot complain.
